Privacy Policy
What information I collect, why, and how it's looked after.
Built By Flook respects your privacy. This Policy explains how I handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It covers this website and the services I provide.
Contents
01 What I collect
I only collect what I need to respond to you and provide the services. That typically includes:
- Contact details you give me — your name, email address and phone number;
- Enquiry details — your industry, whether you have a website, and the message you send;
- Client & billing information if you take a plan — business details and the information needed to invoice you;
- Technical information — basic, usually anonymous data such as approximate location and device/browser type if analytics are in use.
I don't seek sensitive information (such as health or government identifiers), so please don't include it in your messages.
02 How I collect it
I collect information directly from you — when you complete the contact form, email or call me, or work with me on a project. Some technical information may be collected automatically through the website (see Cookies & analytics).
03 Why I collect & use it
I use your information to:
- Respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote or mock-up;
- Provide, manage and support the services if you become a client;
- Send invoices and handle payments;
- Communicate with you about your project or account;
- Meet legal and record-keeping obligations.
I won't use your details for unrelated marketing without your consent, and I don't sell your personal information.
04 Who I share it with
I keep your information to myself wherever possible. I may share it only with trusted service providers who help me run the business, such as:
- The form provider that delivers contact-form submissions to me;
- Hosting, domain and email providers;
- Payment and accounting providers;
- Professional advisers, or authorities where required by law.
These providers only receive what they need to perform their function.
05 Overseas disclosure
Some of the providers I use (for example, the contact-form and hosting services) store data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. Where that happens, I take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
06 Cookies & analytics
This website is built to be lightweight and uses minimal cookies. It may use a small amount of privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used (such as page views), and your browser's local storage to remember preferences like your chosen language. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
07 Storage & security
I take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access — including limiting who can see it and using reputable, secured providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but I act quickly if an issue arises. I keep personal information only for as long as I need it, then delete or de-identify it.
08 Access & correction
You can ask me what personal information I hold about you, request a copy, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Just email me and I'll respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. There's normally no charge.
09 Complaints
If you're concerned about how I've handled your information, please contact me first and I'll do my best to put it right. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
10 Changes to this Policy
I may update this Policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published here, with the "last updated" date at the top.
